Congressman Glenn Grothman Visit

On April 27, 2015, Congressman Glenn Grothman (R-WI) took the time to reaffirm his support for individuals with disabilities by visiting Brooke Industries, Inc.
As an interested participant in the AbilityOne Congressional Champion Program, Congressman Grothman viewed for himself the vital role facilities such as Brooke Industries, Inc. plays in the lives of those attending. Grothman took the time to personally acquaint himself with consumers and staff. He witnessed our successes and took note of our concerns. One of which is the potential repeal of section 14 (c) of the Fair Labor Standards Act, allowing for special wage certificates to be authorized. Without such authorization, the vast majority of consumers currently working at Brooke Industries, Inc. would be displaced. We would like to thank Congressman Grothman for his support of 14(c), and the right of individuals with disabilities to choose an option where they are allowed to work in a supportive environment.
